A trip to the beach in Hollywood Florida?
Bargain HotelsHypnotic Cherry asked:
Me and my boyfriend are looking for a getaway trip for the weekend. We both live in Miami but we want to stay in a hotel where we can open the hotel door and be right on the sand we have not found any but we are looking for something that is not expensive for a few days. for the weekend of 5-30 to 6-1.
If you can give me any suggestions mabey and name and a phone number i would appreciate it!!!

If you drive a few more hours north, there is a fantastic town Melbourne. It’s old Florida beachy with the hotels right on the beach. I’m a big fan of the Crowne Plaza & the Hilton on Melbourne Beach. There isn’t much in the way of nightlife, but there is a fantastic little downtown area with some great restaurants & bars. The other great thing is everything is within a 5-10 minute drive! No traffic, the people are all very nice, the pace is slower, & the beach is more natural. We absolutely love getting away to Melbourne.
Check out Travelzoo.com for great rates on hotels. I have gotten good deals on the Crowne Plaza, but you can also find good rates hotels throughout South Florida.
If you do go to Melbourne, you MUST have breakfast at The Beach Side Cafe. Go early or expect a wait, but it’s so worth it! They have eggs benedict & the most unbelieveable stuffed french toast. Also Downtown is a ridiculously good hot dog stand Mustard’s Last Stand. We pretty much plan our trip when we start jonesing for hot dogs & french toast.

I’d like to mount a campaign to encourage people not to go anywhere. Travel has become so expensive and unpleasant that it’s hard to understand why people don’t stay home.
Why are we crowding our highways and airports to get someplace else? Newspapers and magazines are filled with ads trying to get us to travel. They want us to go somewhere - anywhere but home

The Marriott on Hollywood Beach is beautiful. If you get an oceanfront room, the balcony views are breathtaking. It’s also right near the broadwalk- cute little shops. Hotel is right on the beach and there’s a nice pool, cute restaurant, etc.
If you want to drive north, the Hilton in Daytona Beach is amazing. You can get a cabana room for no extra cost and you open your door and you are literally 3 feet from the sand. I’ve never seen anything like that and it is amazing.
Good luck!
