Definitely bring a cooler with some drinks, and bring some snacks with you. You will save a lot of money rather than buying stuff at gas stations along the way. This has a lot of fun games to play in the car:

I can recommend a good, safe, very inexpensive motel in Orlando, called New Start City Motel, on Orange Blossom Trail. Large rooms, on a lake, close to convenience stores and fast food. Short drive to restaurants, malls & attractions. Best answer.

The car ride is nothing. Its going to be easy. I travel from Tampa to Miami at least twice a month. It takes me 3.5 hours and I do that without stopping. I usually have about four really good cds and hit the road. The hotels in orlando range greatly. Its kind of like a cruise. If your going to use the hotel amenities then going all out and get a really pricey room. If your just going for the amazement parks and tourist attractions then your best bet is to simple stay in a less expensive hotel because most of your money goes to cost of getting in the parks. I you really don’t care then go all out. Get the really pricey hotel and all the tickets. The sky’s the limit when it comes to Orlando. Its a really nice place and lots of things to do. I attached a website I visit frequently use to get some ideas from. If I see something I am interested in then I go to the direct site and search for deals. Good Luck, have fun, and take LOTS of pics.

It’s good to be prepared.
1rst. make sure that your car is in good condition, tires are filled, oil has been changed, air filter has been changed ( these things give you better gas miliage on the road).
2nd. have sunglasses, snacks, drinks, audio books.
For great deals on hotels and rooms the best place to go is : you can travel to great destinations for 1/10 of the price.
