Once I used Priceline.com and got a nice hotel in Manhattan for 50.00. I didn’t know the name of the hotel until after I agreed to pay up to that much, and it turned out to be a good deal, though not particularly close to anything. (About a 6 block walk to the closest Subway station)
Good Luck!

go to and get all the info ready that you need and the credit card you can spend money on right now. tell it where and when you want to be there. then bid. look at the current prices and bid low at first. heck i have been know to get hotel rooms at sheratons and the like for 30 bucks a night. not saying nyc will be easy but you can do it now…before the rush.

The cheapest thing I got in Manhattan 6 years ago was the Comfort Inn on 46th street. It was 200/night! That’s not exactly cheap in my book, and who knows what it costs now, but it was the best I could come up with at the time. The next best thing was a B&B north of Central Park. The only up side was that since my husband and I spent 7 nights there, we signed up for one of those frequent guest cards and instantly got another 2 nights free with Comfort Inn (not at this one…for the next time).

Check out hotwire! I got a great deal for a few nights in Boston. Travelocity, Expedia, and Orbitz were all listing $150+/night, but I got $89/night at a decent hotel.

There are many reasonable hotels starting from $83/night for a week in November.
Use FareChase, they search dozens of websites for you, so you dont have to!!!
