do hotels offer cheaper rates for employees who want to reside on the property?

my sister was offered a position at a hotel in new jersey in atlantic city but we live in brooklyn new york. It’s too long a commute about 3 hours and too expensive $31.00 round trip
she wants to stay at the hotel where she will be working at but she cant afford to pay their regular nightly rates. Just wondering if hotels usually offer cheap rates for their employees. its too early to call them now so just wondering if anyone can answer this question please

I wouldn’t count on it, at least not on a regular basis.
There are probably other, cheaper places nearby where other employees in her situation stay. Tell her to ask the hotel for advice, look on craigslist for a sublet, or even ask a question on Yahoo! Answers.
