Last month, we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Brooklyn for two nights. It is a less than 2 year old hotel right near (about a 3 minute walk) the M-R subway line that takes you to Midtown Manhattan in about 30 minutes. We booked it through Hotwire for US$175 for 2 nights-including all taxes - that’s less than $90 a night!

you will not find one. all the hotels wayy expensive this time of year.
you could stay at the YMCA in manhattan, those rooms are like about 100 a night.
