Florida's best beaches in my humble opinion are on the Gulf coast. If you want to choose one from Miami, Daytona, Ft Lauderdale, I would go with Ft Lauderdale. Just because you get that South Florida feel without quite the traffic and congestion of Miami. Anything that is in the Florida Panhandle is beautiful sugar sand. Destin is really beautiful. Near Tampa, Clearwater is nice. St Pete is nice. We used to stay in cottages on Anna Maria Island when I was a little girl. They probably don't have many cottages left now. My suggestion is go somewhere real scenic (like the Grand Canyon, Arches national park, etc...) and skip the big cities unless you are looking for something I mentioned. The water is crystal clear aqua like in the tropics and the sand is bright white. you can find a hotel cheap there. If you want awesome night life or big spring break parties you can get the same awesome water and sand as destin over at panama city. both places have small waterparks as well for around 20 bucks a ticket. these are the best beaches in florida. i currently live in orlando and go to daytona, ft. lauderdale and miami and even tampa regularly and they are very brown water and ugly sand. also they are all hyped up on proces beucase it;s "miami beach" or whatever. trust me you will LOVE destin or panama city it's beautiful. try googling it and you'll see how amazing it is. look for pics of destin..you'll see.!!! good luck.
